Private J. Donegan

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

J. Donegan enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Belfast on 10 October 1918 (Corps of Hussars No.72188). He stated that he was born in Shankill, Antrim, was a labourer, and was 19 years old. He was described as being 5' 3½" tall, with a fresh complexion, brown hair and grey eyes. 'Patrick McShane" was tattooed on his left arm.

He was reported to have deserted from the regiment's reserve depot at Antrim on 6 December 1918.
